This Egyptian stone scarab has a cream and tan surface with incised lines defining the beetle’s wing cases and head. The underside features a long-necked bird motif with additional markings above it.
In ancient Egypt, the scarab was closely associated with Khepri, the god of the rising sun. The sun’s return each morning made the beetle an enduring symbol of renewal and new life.
