This Egyptian stone scarab has a cream and tan surface, a defined beetle form on one side and incised motifs within an oval border on the underside. Brown tones accent the recessed markings and textured surface.
In ancient Egypt, the scarab was closely associated with Khepri, the god of the rising sun. The sun’s return each morning made the beetle an enduring symbol of renewal and new life. Scarab-shaped amulets also expressed hopes for protection, giving this familiar form a meaning beyond its decorative appeal.
