Warm brown markings punctuate the pale cream stone of this small alabaster vase. Its rounded shoulders lead into a short neck and flared rim, above a gently tapering body.
A loose band of darker colour crosses one side near the shoulders, with smaller honey-coloured spots below and fine veins on the reverse. At 19 cm tall and 14 cm wide, it is an easy size for a shelf or side table.
Alabaster’s natural veining and gentle translucency give each piece its own character. This vase is hand carved on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt.
The vase shown in the photographs is the individual piece offered.
