Cloudy cream and honey-coloured areas mingle across this small alabaster vase. Its rounded body curves gently towards the open rim, giving the piece a simple outline that highlights the stone.
Fine intersecting veins and deeper brown patches add detail to the broad pale areas. At 15 cm tall and 12 cm wide, it is a compact accent with a different natural pattern visible from each side.
Alabaster’s natural veining and gentle translucency give each piece its own character. This vase is hand carved on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt.
The vase shown in the photographs is the individual piece offered.
