A sweeping brown vein wraps around the pale body of this alabaster vase, giving its classic shape a distinctive natural pattern. Rounded shoulders, a narrow neck and a flared rim complete the 18 cm silhouette.
Display it where the curve and changing stone pattern can be appreciated from different angles. The photographs show the vase unlit and illuminated, with lighting bringing out amber tones and deeper chestnut contrast.
Alabaster’s natural veining and gentle translucency give each piece its own character. This vase is hand carved on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt.
