Our Gold Meretseger Kneeling Statue honours a guardian goddess with a special connection to the landscape of Luxor. Meretseger, whose name means 'She Who Loves Silence', was associated with the royal necropolis at Thebes and the people who worked on its tombs.
This miniature honours her cobra imagery in a kneeling figure, with a textured gold finish and raised decoration around the square base. It brings together a local story and a compact piece of Egyptian art. An intriguing choice for anyone fascinated by the Valley of the Kings, Meretseger also adds a less familiar face to a growing Egyptian statue collection.
Made in Egypt, every piece is hand finished by us in our Calgary store.
