Cloudy cream stone and delicate warm veins give this rounded alabaster vase a soft, sculptural character. A short straight neck rises from its broad, nearly spherical body.
Measuring 17 cm high and 16 cm across, it adds a compact, rounded shape to a shelf or table. Unlit and illuminated photographs show the pale stone alongside the warmer veins and honey-coloured patches revealed by light.
Alabaster’s natural veining and gentle translucency give each piece its own character. This vase is hand carved on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt.
