Cloudy cream and sandy taupe tones spread across the broad body of this alabaster vase. Rounded shoulders, a straight neck and a wide flared rim give the 30 cm form a generous, architectural presence.
At 23 cm across, it suits a prominent position on a console or display table. The unlit photograph shows its soft earth tones, while illuminated views reveal warm translucent areas, smoky patches and a fine network of natural markings.
Alabaster’s natural veining and gentle translucency give each piece its own character. This vase is hand carved on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt.
