Golden-coloured stripes and deep brown bands give this alabaster vase a bold, flowing pattern. Its elongated body curves into rounded shoulders beneath a short neck and flared rim.
The illuminated photographs reveal fine cross-banding within the lighter stone, while the opposite side shows a broad dark area framed by a sweeping golden curve. At 26 cm tall and 17 cm wide, it has a slender profile with striking variation around the body.
Alabaster’s natural veining and gentle translucency give each piece its own character. This vase is hand carved on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt.
