Vintage Obba Mini Statue - Small Orisha of Rivers Ọba

An Orisha is a manifestation of God. Followers believe that these spirits will give them help in life, if they carry out the appropriate rituals, and enable them to achieve the destiny that God planned for them before they were born.
Oba, a beautiful river spirit, is overshadowed by other more famous river/water Orishas, like Oshun, Oya and Yemaya. One of the most well-known tales about Oba is the myth of Oba’s ear. Oba was tricked by one of Chango’s other wives to cut off her ear and feed it to her husband. Oba was told that the key to Chango’s heart was this magical culinary ingredient. Not! Chango was so mortified and disgusted, he fled from Oba’s embrace, never to return.
Oba is venerated as an Orisha of love in Brazil but considered a guardian of prostitutes in Africa. She favorited people who were faithful wives, prostitutes, those who would risk everything for love, as well as women married to abusive, neglectful and/or a cheating spouse.

Twelve Orisha’s available in this size: Ogun, Oshun, Yemaya, Chango, Obatala, Oya, Aja, Ochosi, Orunla, Ellegua, Olokun & Obba
