Nefertari Papyrus - 100x70cm

Ramses II's most beloved wife. It is thought that she died in the 25th year of his reign. Here, she is pictured on the right, in the afterlife. This is signified by her transparent clothing. She is being led by Isis into the afterlife.

The original location of this scene is in Queen Nefertari's tomb, referred to as QV66 by Egyptologists. QV66 is sometimes called the "sistine chapel of Ancient Egypt" because of the beautiful and colourful scenes located within.
