Khafre was a pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty during the Old Kingdom, succeeding his father Khufu as pharaoh. Khafre is known for constructing the second largest pyramid at Giza, as well as the Great Sphinx, which some believe was modeled after his own features.
Khafre's most famous statue, known as "Khafre Enthroned", is a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian art. It depicts the pharaoh seated on a throne decorated with symbols of his authority over a unified Egypt, with the god Horus behind his head.
Though not much is known about Khafre's specific achievements, his monumental building projects and the impressive artworks created during his reign demonstrate the strength and prosperity of Egypt under his rule.
