This handmade shabti depicts Bes, one of ancient Egypt’s most beloved protective deities.
Bes was believed to safeguard the home, ward off harmful forces, and watch over families—particularly women and children. Unlike many Egyptian gods, he was traditionally shown facing forward, with a bold expression and distinctive lion-like features intended to frighten away evil.
