Beautiful Stone Sekhmet statue handmade in the West Bank of Luxor Egypt
Sekhmet,, depicted as a lioness, was goddess of the hot desert sun, plague, chaos, war & healing. Sekhmet was represented by the searing heat of the mid-day sun and was a terrifying goddess. However, for her friends she could also avert plague and cure disease. As a result, Sekhmet was sometimes called the “lady of terror” but was also known as “lady of life”.
