Beautiful Stone statue handmade in the West Bank of Luxor Egypt
The ancient Egyptians were fascinated by dung beetles or scarab beetles – so much so they even had a scarab beetle god! Khepri is a scarab-faced god in ancient Egyptian religion and represents the rising or morning sun. By extension, he can also represent creation and the renewal of life.
