A slender stem and round foot lift this cream alabaster vase into an elegant pedestal form. Its oval body rises into softly rounded shoulders, a short neck and a broad flared rim.
The unlit photograph shows subdued cream and taupe tones with a textured-looking crystalline pattern. The illuminated views reveal warmer honey-coloured areas and fine veining within the stone. Standing 32 cm tall, it brings height and a distinctive silhouette to a display.
Alabaster’s natural veining and gentle translucency give each piece its own character. This vase is hand carved on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt.
