Ramses III Statue
Ramses III (1182 - 1151 BCE) was the last great Pharaoh of the New Kingdom. Ramses III is best known for successfully defending Egypt against the invasions of the mysterious "Sea Peoples" in the eighth year of his reign. This victory helped maintain Egypt's power and prosperity. Like his famous predecessor Ramses II, Ramses III was a prolific builder, constructing many temples and monuments throughout Egypt. The Medinet Habu temple complex is one of his major architectural achievements.
