Akhenaten Papyrus
Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti were behind a revolutionary time in ancient Egyptian history, referred to by Egyptologists as the Amarna Interlude. This period was signified by adoption of new styles of art coupled with religious revolution. The new religion established worship of a sole deity, Aten.
Akhenaten is seen with his wife Nefertiti and their oldest daughter Meritaten, offering sacrifices to Aten as they receive Aten’s blessings, depicted as the sun’s rays ending with the Ankh.
