Wife of Nakhtmin

This female bust figure was apart of a single statue with her husband Nakhtmin (14th dynasty). A heavy wig, fashionable in this period, frames the woman’s face. Two braids fall at each side, held by a band at the level of the cheeks. Across her forehead is a large diadem, decorated with floral motifs. In the center are lotus flowers, which were powerful symbols of resurrection.
