Elegua Mini Statue - Small Orisha of Travellers and Crossroads Eleggua

An Orisha is a manifestation of God. Followers believe that these spirits will give them help in life, if they carry out the appropriate rituals, and enable them to achieve the destiny that God planned for them before they were born.
Elegua (Ellugua, Eluggua) represents the beginning and end of life and the opening and closing of paths in life. Sometimes known as the trickster, he likes to play jokes on people. He enjoys candy and toys. He holds the power over luck and misfortune and uses this power to afflict people with temptation and difficulties in order for them to mature. Despite his childlike nature, he is a very powerful Orisha. He is always mentioned first in any ceremony because without his permission, the doors to communication with the Orishas stay closed.
Elegua is also known as the Orisha of the roads and the protector of travellers.
